About
Dr. Salvatoriello
As an expert in his field, Dr. Salvatoriello has been a Specialist
in Orthodontics and Dento-Facial Orthopedics since 1975. He graduated as
a Dean's List student from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey
with an undergraduate degree in Biology Education and a secondary school
teaching certificate. He then attended Tufts University School of Dental
Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts where he was Vice President of his class,
graduating with honors and was elected to the prestigious Omicron Kappa
Upsilon Society, the National Dental Honor Society.
While at Tufts, Dr. Salvatoriello was awarded two Graduate Fellowships,
one of which was at the National Institute of Dental Research in Bethesda,
Maryland where he was involved in research on Oral-Facial Development and
Cleft Palate.
From Tufts Dental School, Dr. Salvatoriello was selected for a Rotating
Dental Internship in the United States Public Health Service in New Orleans,
Louisiana. From there, Dr. Salvatoriello attended Tufts University Graduate
School of Orthodontics in Boston, completing the two year University based
specialty program with a grade average of 96 and was awarded his specialty
certification.
Dr. Salvatoriello is a member of The American Association of Orthodontists,
the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association,
the Vermont and New Hampshire Dental Societies and the American Cleft Palate
Society. He is also the Senior Consultant to the New Hampshire Special
Medical Services Division of the State's Children and Youth Services. He is the Orthodontic Consultant to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center's Face of a Child Clinic and an Adjunct Professor at Dartmouth Medical School. He is also Past President of the Grafton-Sullivan
Dental Society.
Dr. Salvatoriello has lectured extensively to orthodontists, dentists and
their staffs throughout the Northeast and is a former instructor at Dartmouth
Medical School. He has had numerous publications in The Journal of Clinical
Orthodontics and Dental Economics Magazine, the Nation's Leading Dental
Business Journal, where he served on their Editorial Board. He also is
a former consultant to the Unitek Corporation, the world's largest manufacturer
of Orthodontic materials, and a division of 3M, where he contributed to
the development and refinement of the clear ceramic bracket orthodontic
appliance. Dr. Sal is the developer of the BROPA® and MANDIBULAR ADVANCER®
functional matrix removable treatment appliances and approach to interceptive
orthodontic and dento-facial treatment in youngsters without the use of
fixed orthodontic appliances, acclaimed and used extensively for over fifteen
years.
Active in his community, Dr. Sal has coached and assisted in virtually
every community athletic recreational program provided and is a former
Cub Master of Cub Scout Pack 45 in Hanover, New Hampshire. He is a former
coach at the Dartmouth Summer Basketball Camp. He and his family also own
Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Scoop Shop in Hanover, New Hampshire which
each year gives away thousands of dollars in products and services to a
variety of not-for-profit and community organizations.
Dr. Sal lives in Hanover with his wife Mary Ann and their eleven children. He enjoys racquetball and swimming but, most of all,
watching his children grow up- Yes, even Matthew.
